Passport Services

    1. Applicants wishing to obtain the Nigerian Passport at the Consulate must be citizens of Nigeria.
    2. Every applicant, including infants, must be physically present at the Consulate General of Nigeria for submission of application and biometric enrollment.
    • Original copies of supporting documents for fresh application are required for sighting.
    1. Passport application form must be completed and printed online viahttps://immigration.gov.ng
    2. Original copies of supporting documents for change of name/correction of data (where applicable) must be presented.
    3. The Consulate is closed to applicants on Fridays, weekends and public holidays (including Nigerian and German holidays).
    • Issued passports may be mailed or collected in person.
    • Applicants are advised to renew their passports within the last six (6) months to expiration.
    1. All successful online payments for passport application are valid for one year from the date of payment.
    2. All applicants are enjoined to verify information on their application form during capturing to avoid delay in processing of passport.
    3. All visitors or applicants honouring their appointments should ensure the following:
      • Have all required documents ready.
    • Maintain Social Distancing.
    • Phones, electronic devices and gadgets must be switched off and handed over to the officers at the door for keeping.
    • Firearms and pets are not brought to the Consulate

    PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCEDURE

    Step 1: Visit https://passportintl.immigration.gov.ng/  

    Step 2: Click Passport Services. Read General Information and Required Documents.

    Step 3: Select Passport Application Type

    Step 4: Fill out and complete online application form.

    Step 5: Make payment and book an appointment at the Nigeria Immigration Service portal.

    Step 6: Select Germany as Processing Country and Frankfurt as processing authority.

    Step 7: Book an appointment for your biometric enrollment and be at the Consulate on your appointment day/time.

    Step 8: Await issuance of passport.

Step 1: Know Your Requirements
Click Passport Services. Read General Information and Required Documents.

Step 2: Select Passport Application Type
Click Apply for Passport and select the type of application you wish to make

Step 3: Fill out the Application form
Complete online application form, make payment and book an appointment at the Nigeria Immigration Service portal. Select Germany as Processing Country and Frankfurt as Processing Embassy. Please check the box below and click the button to proceed with applying

Step 4: Make Payment for Passport Online

Step 5: Book an Appointment for your Biometric Enrollment and be at The Consulate on your Appointment Day/Time.
Submit your application with required documents at the Consulate General of Nigeria, Frankfurt, Weissfrauenstrasse 12, D-60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany on your appointment day/time. Upon successful submission, wait your turn for biographical/biometric enrollment.

Step 6: Await Delivery of Passport
There are two options for delivery:

1. mailing. Issued Passports will be mailed to applicants with submitted self-addressed envelopes.
2. Pick up at the Consulate. Applicants can also choose to pick up their passports at the Consulate.

  • Minor (under 18 years):
  1. Completed online application form
  2. Passport Payment slip
  3. One (1) Passport Photograph
  4. Clean copy of Birth Certificate (Original required for sighting)
  5. Clean copy of parent’s passport data page
  6. Consent letter signed by parent and duly notarized by notary officer
  7. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  8. National Identity Number
  9. Appointment slip
  • Adult (18 years and above):
  1. Completed online application form
  2. Passport Payment Slip
  3. Evidence of Nigerian citizenship (state or local government identification certificate or evidence of birth by parent with Nigerian citizenship by birth)
  4. One (1) Passport Photograph
  5. Clean copy of Birth Certificate (Original required for sighting)
  6. Clean copy of parents’ passport data page
  7. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  8. National Identity Number
  9. Appointment slip

Renewal 

  1. Completed online application form
  2. Passport payment slip
  3. Copy of current (expired/expiring) passport data page
  4. Expired/expiring passport booklet (if not presented will be treated as Lost)
  5. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  6. National Identity Number
  7. Appointment slip

Correction of Name/Correction of error on request

  • Change of Name due to Marriage/Divorce:
  1. Completed online application form
  2. Passport Payment slip
  3. Copy of current (expired/expiring) Passport data page
  4. Expired/expiring Passport booklet
  5. Clean copy of marriage certificate or divorce documents as applicable
  6. Copy of Husband’s means of Identity
  7. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  8. National Identity Number
  9. Appointment slip

Change of Name/Correction of Error:

  1. Completed online application form
  2. Passport Payment slip
  3. Copy of current (expired/expiring) Passport data page
  4. Expired/expiring Passport booklet
  5. Copies of documentary evidence to support the request
  6. Copy of payment slip of Non-refundable Administrative fee of N30,000 payable in Naira only. (read guidelines on how to make the payment for correction of data here)
  7. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  8. National Identity Number
  9. Appointment slip

Stolen or Lost Passport

  1. Completed online application form (printed copy)
  2. Passport payment slip
  3. Clean copy of Police Report
  4. Clean copy of lost/stolen passport data page (Lost/Stolen Passport number is a must, if data page is not available)
  5. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  6. National Identity Number
  7. Appointment slip

Damaged Passport

  1. Completed online application form (printed copy)
  2. Passport payment slip
  3. Copy of damaged passport data page
  4. Damaged passport booklet (if not presented will be treated as Lost)
  5. Fire incident report if damaged by fire
  6. Written application letter explaining reason for damage of the booklet.
  7. Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
  8. National Identity Number
  9. Appointment slip
