Passport Services
- Applicants wishing to obtain a Nigerian Passport at the Consulate or any other mission abroad must be a Citizen of Nigeria.
- Every applicant including infants must be physically present at the Consulate General of Nigeria, Weissfrauenstrasse 12, D-60311 Frankfurt am Main Germany, for submission of application and Biometric/Biographical enrollment.
- Original copies of supporting documents for Fresh Application, Change of Name/Correction of Data are required for sighting.
- Passport application form must be completed and printed online via https://immigration.gov.ng
- Consulate is closed to Applicants on weekends and Public Holidays (Both Nigeria and German holidays are observed).
- All issued Passports will be mailed to applicants with a return self-addressed envelope submitted.
- Applicants are advised to plan ahead and submit their application from 6 months to expiration of their current Passport.
- All successful online payments for Passport Application are valid for one year from the date of payment.
- Consulate will not be responsible for any error made by applicants on the application form. It is the applicant’s responsibility to correct any error made on application before such can be accepted at the Consulate.

- All visitors or applicants honouring their appointments should observe the following:
- Have all required documents ready.
- Maintain Social Distancing.
- Phone use will not be allowed in the building. All phones should be switched off whilst in the building.
- Must submit to security screening at the gate.
- Firearms are strictly prohibited.
- All Applicants that submit their documents by 12pm will be attended to before closing.
Step 1: Know Your Requirements

Step 2: Select Passport Application Type
Click Apply for Passport and select the type of application you wish to make
Step 3: Fill out the Application form
Complete online application form, make payment and book an appointment at the Nigeria Immigration Service portal. Select Germany as Processing Country and Frankfurt as Processing Embassy. Please check the box below and click the button to proceed with applying
Step 4: Make Payment for Passport Online

Step 5: Book an Appointment for your Biometric Enrollment and be at The Consulate on your Appointment Day/Time.
Submit your application with required documents at the Consulate General of Nigeria, Frankfurt, Weissfrauenstrasse 12, D-60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany on your appointment day/time. Upon successful submission, wait your turn for biographical/biometric enrollment.
Step 6: Await Delivery of Passport
There are two options for delivery:
1. mailing. Issued Passports will be mailed to applicants with submitted self-addressed envelopes.
2. Pick up at the Consulate. Applicants can also choose to pick up their passports at the Consulate.
- Minor (under 18 years):
- Completed online application form

- Clean copy of Birth Certificate (Original required for sighting)
- Clean copy of parent’s passport data page
- Consent letter signed by parent and duly notarized by notary officer
- Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office

- Adult (18 years and above):
- Completed online application form
- Passport Payment Slip
- Evidence of Nigerian citizenship (state or local government identification certificate or evidence of birth by parent with Nigerian citizenship by birth)
- One (1) Passport Photograph
- Clean copy of Birth Certificate (Original required for sighting)
- Clean copy of parents’ passport data page
- Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office
- National Identity Number

Renewal
- Completed online application form
- Passport payment slip
- Copy of current (expired/expiring) passport data page
- Expired/expiring passport booklet (if not presented will be treated as Lost)

Correction of Name/Correction of error on request
- Change of Name due to Marriage/Divorce:
- Completed online application form

- Copy of current (expired/expiring) Passport data page

- Clean copy of marriage certificate or divorce documents as applicable
- Copy of Husband’s means of Identity
- Self-addressed return envelope with appropriate stamp from Post Office

Change of Name/Correction of Error:

Stolen or Lost Passport
- Completed online application form (printed copy)

- Clean copy of Police Report
- Clean copy of lost/stolen passport data page (Lost/Stolen Passport number is a must, if data page is not available)

Damaged Passport

- Copy of damaged passport data page
- Damaged passport booklet (if not presented will be treated as Lost)
- Fire incident report if damaged by fire
- Written application letter explaining reason for damage of the booklet.

Following the Federal Government’s restoration on Administrative charges in Nigerai Missions Aboad and a meeting between the Consulate General of Nigeria in Frankfurt and The Leadership of the Nigerian Community, Concerned Nigerians and The Nigerians Elders Forum, The Following Fees have benn agreed upon for processing of Passports

Due to a policy change in HQ planning to migrate the production site to Nigeria. Due to this, we can no longer give a guaranteed time span of when the Passport would arrive. Applicants who choose this option should approach this option with caution.
For the process time span we do not offer same day collection anymore.
We do not accept envelopes anymore. We source our envelopes and “Einschreibung” pamphlets, so this is no longer needed.
